41st AOIAPCON 2023 – AP ENT State conference under the aegis of Association of Otolaryngologists of India – AP Chapter is organized by Department of ENT, Narayana Medical College, Nellore and Simhapuri ENT Association together on September 8th, 9th, 10th 2023 in Narayana Medical College, Nellore. The Conference was successfully attended by a total of more than 375 delegates and faculty of ENT from in and around Andhra Pradesh. APMC has granted a total of 6 credit hours for the conference.
Dr Babji Vice Chancellor of Dr YSR University of Health Sciences attended as the chief guest for the inaugural function of the conference. Dr P Srinivasulu Reddy, Principal, Narayana Medical College, Dr B Hariprasad Reddy, Medical Superintendent, Narayana Medical College, Mr V Vijayabhaskara Reddy, General Manager Narayana Educational Institutions, Mr Ramarao Campus Incharge Narayana Medical College were the guests of Honor during the inauguration. Representatives of AP ENT State Association President Dr KVS Kumar Chowdary, Secretary Dr MA Rahman, organizing Chair Person of the conference Dr N Janardhan and Organizing Secretary Dr V Krishna Chaitanya were among the others on the Dias during the inauguration. The conference started with a formal Lamp lighting and prayer song by the dignitaries.
During the inauguration Life time achievement award is presented to Dr Kabir and Dr Harnath for their exemplary services in ENT in Andhra Pradesh. Institutional Achievement award is presented to Dr N Janardhan for his services rendered in academics to the Department of ENT in Narayana Medical College, Nellore during the inaugural function.
Also during the inauguration Tinnicare Software Android application for self-management of Tinnitus and Tinnipatch Prototype device developed by Dr V Krishna Chaitanya as part of Extramural ADHOC Project funded by ICMR were formally launched by the chief guest and other dignitaries on the Dias.
Event started on Day 1 i.e. on 8th September with Hands on Cadaveric Sheep Head Demonstration and Dissection workshop under the guidance of Dr Jayaprakash Reddy as the faculty of the workshop. During the Workshop initial dissection and demonstration was performed by Dr Jayaprakash Reddy and later on the Residents and Junior consultants were divided into batches and performed Hands on Dissection on Cadaveric Sheep Heads to improve their surgical skills of using Microdebrider during the surgery. The workshop was attended by a total of 30 residents and Junior consultants in ENT from in and around Andhra Pradesh.
Scientific sessions involving the scientific presentations of case series and case reports by postgraduates and consultants in ENT were presented during the conference in various categories contesting for the medals and certificates. Also Preliminary round of Quiz Programme for Postgraduates is organized on Day1. Delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner were served with the Nellore delicacies at the conference venue during the conference.
Day 2 started with demonstration of Cadaveric Hands on Temporal Bone Dissections and Demonstrations by Dr Ravi Ramalingam, Eminent Guest Faculty and Consultant at KKR ENT Hospitals from Chennai. After the demonstration Orations and Panel Discussions on Bronchoesophagology, Head and Neck and Ear were organized on Day 2 and lead by eminent Faculty Dr Ravi Ramalingam, Dr Sankar Medikeri from Bengaluru and Dr Vinod Felix from Trivandrum. The Panel Discussions were supported by Dr Srinath, Dr Sankar Kumar Verma, Dr Y N Reddy, Dr Satish Chandra Reddy and many more faculty in and around Andhra Pradesh.
During the evening of day 2 general body of the meeting of the conference is organized and during the meeting it is decided that Dr N Janardhan, Retd HOD and Adjunct Professor from Narayana Medical College, Nellore elected as President elect for the association for the term from 2024 to 2025 and also Dr V Krishna Chaitanya, Professor and HOD ENT, Narayana Medical College, Nellore is elected as the Vice President of the association for the office bearing 2023 to 2024. Also it was concluded during the meeting that the 42nd AOIAPCON will be organized in Bheemavaram of Andhra Pradesh. Day 2 concluded with Grand Banquet Party attended by more than 500 people involving the family members of the delegates along with the dignitaries with lot of fun and gaiety.
Day 3 of the conference started with Dissections and demonstrations on Anterior Skull Base by our Guest faculty Dr Vinod Felix from Trivandrum on fresh Human Cadaver where he demonstrated the extended skills and basics of skull base surgery. After these sessions an exclusive session on Innovative Teaching in ENT was organized by Dr Vijayagovindarajan Deenadayalan from Vellore.
The conference was appreciated by the attended delegates for the scientific sessions and also for the food and delicacies. Also a total of 30 stalls of medical, surgical and allied were present during the conference. The event concluded after the quiz final and by distribution of memoirs to the hosting committees of the conference. The conference in Total is a Grand Success due to the efforts of the hosting team of Consultants, Residents, Internees and students from Narayana Medical College under the leadership of Dr V Krishna Chaitanya and Dr G Ramesh Babu and their teams and also finance management support from Dr S Rajesh Kumar as the organizing treasurer and also due to the support received from Consultants in ENT in and around Nellore.
