On the occasion of World Leprosy day January 30^th 2025, the department of Community Medicine, Narayana Medical College, Nellore conducted Awareness rally and health education at RHTC, Venkatachalam. Additional DM&HO of Nellore district, Dr.Khader Valli graced the occasion and started the rally along with the RHTC Medical officer, Dr. Sagar accompanied by the Internees, paramedical staff and nursing students. Assistant professor Dr.Sarvani and RHTC incharge Dr.S.Khader Mohammad Ali along with Tutors and Post graduates of the department and undergraduates joined the rally with a theme of ‘Unite, Act, Eliminate’. In the meeting Additional DM&HO explained the problems of the leprosy patients and the way they need to treated without social stigma and discrimination. He addressed the gathering regarding the cardinal features of leprosy and importance of early diagnosis. The Medical officer Dr. Sagar addressed about lepra reaction and also treatment of Leprosy. Lastly Dr.Ali ended the session by explaining about the early diagnosis and treatment, social discrimination and active case finding of the leprosy cases, he ended the session by thanking all the faculty, post graduates, undergraduates, paramedical staff and other employees.
