On the occasion of International Women’s Day, 8th March 2019, an interactive session was organized by Medical, Dental, Nursing and Physiotherapy and Allied Health Sciences Institutions. Smt. P.J. Sudha, Senior Civil Judge and Secretary District Legal Services Authority and Smt.Dr. T. Lakshmi, CMO Indian Red Cross Society Cancer Hospital were the Chief Guests of honour for the occasion. Smt. Sudhagaru enlightened the audience regarding the rights of women and she said that legal Aid is free of cost to all women, irrespective of their Socio – Economic status. She also stressed that women should come out with their domestic problems without hesitation and utilize the legal services provided. Dr. T. Lakshmi Garu, briefed the audience about the various cancers that occur in women, their causes, prevention and treatment. She stressed the importance of Breast self Examination in women and its usefulness in screening for breast cancer. She advised the youngsters to eat healthy food, stay away from junk food, alcohol, tobacco and also asked to have an active life style.

Dr. K. Hymavathi, Prof. & HOD, OB & GY, Narayana Medical College, briefed the audience about the importance of International Women’s Day and its theme. The session was attended by Dr. V. Surya Prakasa Rao Garu, Dean Narayana Medical College, Dr. N.Siva Kumar Dean, Narayana Dental College, Dr. Ajay Reganault, Principal Naryana Dental College, Dr. Indira Devi, Dean, Narayana Nursing Institution, Dr. Tirupathi, Principal, college of Physiotherapy and Dr. S.Bhaskar, Principal Allied Health Sciences. All the staff and students of all the colleges also participated prizes were distributed for those who won in the competitions held.
