Neuro Oncopath Update, CME on Pathology of Brain Tumors was hosted by department of Pathology, Narayana Medical College, Nellore on 19th January 2020.The CME was attended by 159 delegates who were faculty, consultants and post graduates from various medical colleges of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. There are many recent advances in molecular genetics and modifications in WHO classification of Brain tumors which were discussed in CME.

The CME was inaugurated by Dr.Kudagi, Incharge Dean, Dr.V.Shanthi, Organizing chair person, Dr.N.Mohan Rao, organising vice chairperson, Dr.B.Syam Sunadara rao organising secretary, Dr.Sundaram, president of Neuropathology society of India and Dr.Anil Kumar reddy, observer APMC.

On the day of CME guest lectures were delivered by Dr.Sundaram (President, Neuropathology Society of India, Advisor, DNB Pathology, Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute Former Dean, former Professor & HOD Pathology, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad) on Diffuse Glioma: WHO 2016 and beyond and tumor like lesions, Dr. Megha S Uppin (Associate Professor of Pathology, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad) on Embryonal tumors, Dr.P.Lakshmi Manasa (Registrar, Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, Hyderabad) on Case based discussions of selected brain tumors, Dr. Meenakshi Swain (Consultant Pathologist, Apollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad) on Metastatic tumors of CNS, Dr.Uma Maheswara reddy (Associate Professor of Radiology, Narayana Medical college & Hospital, Nellore) on Advanced CT and MRI Vs Histopathology in diagnosing intracranial space occupying lesions, Dr.N.S.Sampath Kumar( (DNB (Paed) DM (Neuro), FRCP(Glasgow) FEAN, Professor & HOD, Department of Neurology, Narayana Medical College & Hospital,Nellore) on NeuroOncology –Issues & challenges in clinical practice. Dr.B.C.M.Prasad (Professor of Neurosurgery, SVIMS, Tirupathi) on Utility of Histopathology report in brain tumor management and Dr.K.Durga (Professor, Department of Pathology,Narayana Medical college, Nellore) on Common pathological cranial and spinal lesions.

CME was on academic feast to all the delegates who attended the CME. Quiz and e-poster by post graduate were conducted. The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr.N.Mohan Rao, organising Vice chair Person of the conference.
