On the occasion of International Epilepsy Day, Live Webinar on the topic “Simplifying treatment strategies for Generalised Epilepsy: A Real World Approach” by the eminent neurologist Prof. Simon Shorvon, Professor of Neurology at University College London; was conducted by Neurology Department, Narayana Medical College on 8th February 2019. The session was chaired by Dr.N.S. Sampath Kumar, Prof and HOD of Neurology. Assistant Professors from Department of Neurology Dr. Ravish and Dr.Sangamithra, and Post-graduate students. Faculty from Department of General Medicine and Paediatrics an post-graduate students attended the programme. During the 1 hour talk; Prof.Shorvon emphasized about the role of Valproate as potential biomarker for diagnosis of Genetic generalised epilepsy. It was followed by panel discussion and Prof.Shorvon addressed the queries raised by participants. The session enlightened all regarding the approach to management of patients with genetic generalised epilepsy.
