On the occasion of world Cancer day, awareness program was conducted at Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC), Saraswathi nagar, by the department of Community Medicine, Narayana Medical College & Hospital.

Dr. C. Jyothi Professor & Head, Dr.C.Kumar Professor,Dr.Sai Sravan Associate professor, Dr.Sarvani & Dr.Lathika Assistant Professors and Dr.Sai teja, Dr.Spandana & Dr.Maneesh  tutors and interns of Department of Community medicine and UHTC Medical officer Dr.Karthik took part in the awareness program.

Dr.C.Jyothi, Professor & Head, Department of community medicine, briefly talked about the screening & importance of screening of individuals with family history of cancer.

Dr.C.Kumar, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, explained about the prevalence of Cancer, risk factors for different types of cancer, warning signs of cancer.

Dr.Sai sravan, Associate professor, explained about different carcinogens that are present in our diet & explained about occupational cancers.

Dr.Sarvani, Assistant professor discussed about the importance of Self Breast Examination(SBE) for the diagnosis of Breast cancer & importance of pap smear for the diagnosis of Cervical cancer.

Lastly Dr.Karthik, Medical officer,UHTC addressed about the early diagnosis & treatment and motivated the people to seek medical care. He ended the session by thanking all the faculty, interns, paramedical staff & audience.

Refreshments were distributed to all the people who attended awareness program.
