A symposium was conducted by the Department of Pharmacology on the 1st of December, 2015,affiliated as World’s Aids Day since 1988 . The theme of the symposium was to create awareness among the young Medical, Dental, Nursing and Paramedics students by presenting the topics HIV/AIDS in sub categories of Pathophysiology, Anti-retroviral Drugs and Clinical picture, Diagnosis and Management. The symposium was attended by around 400 students of Narayana Medical Institutions , Post graduates, Teaching faculty from the Medical, Dental, Nursing and paramedics colleges .The Symposium was a grand success under the able guidance of Dr. B.L Kudagi, Professor and HOD, Dr. G.Bhawani, Professor Dept. of Pharmacology and from the entire eminent faculty of Department of Pharmacology Narayana Medical College and hospital. All the topics were very meticulously dealt by the enthusiastic and knowledgeable speakers from different departments to name Dr.M Susmalata , 1st year post graduate department of Pathology , DR.R. Sri Harsha , 3rd year post graduate, department of Pharmacology and Dr. Ajay Ram, 3rd year postgraduate , department of General medicine . Each session was moderated by reputed teaching faculty of the respective departments to name Dr. Sham Sundar Rao , Associate professor, department of Pathology, Dr. G.V. Hemant , Assistant Professor ,department of Pharmacology, Dr . Bhimsen Soren, Professor, department of General Medicine. Dr.Subba Rao, Hospital Administrator, Dr.Krishna Murthy, Prof.&H.O.D of Psychiatry also spoke on the Occasion.
