Radio Diagnosis

INTRODUCTION OF DEPARTMENT

The department of radio-diagnosis & imaging is equipped with state of the art imaging modalities like 3 Tesla MRI, 128 slice CT, computed radiography systems & bone marrow densitometry. The department also has 16 slice Siemens scope and 0.3 Tesla Siemens somotom MRI to support the routine work load. An up to date Fluoroscopy unit, mammography, seven USG machines (Philips HD series) for routine work load and a GE Voluson P6 4D ultrasound unit are also available. Approximately 300 radiographs, 200 ultrasounds, 15 MRI & more than 30 CTs and 5-10 fluoroscopy procedures are performed per day.

VISION

  • Improving academic achievements of students from state level to national level.
  • More research publications with emphasis on quality indices.
  • Expanding series of text book on exam cases to other systems (with collaboration with other universities like CMC, Vellore).

MISSION

  • To perform advanced CT & MRI procedures like DTI, MRS, Cardiac imaging, Angiography and MR Arthograms on a day to day basis.
  • To incorporate advanced fetal imaging into the routine post graduate curriculum.
  • Initiation of non vascular interventional procedures like CT cisternography, CT myelography and radiofrequency ablation.

OBJECTIVES

  • To provide accuracy in patient diagnosis with the minimal possible expenditure and least possible time
  • To perform advanced imaging techniques and to quantify techniques using appropriate scientific protocols..
