International Women’s Day 8th March-2020
On the occasion of International Women’s Day which fell on 8th march 2020 i.e. Sunday, it was celebrated at Narayana Medical College on the 7th March of 2020 from 3 PM to 5 PM. Dr.Pravallika & Dr.Vyshnavi, Asst. Professors from the Department of Community Medicine compered the program. The function was presided by our beloved Dean of Narayana Medical College & Hospital Dr. S.P.Rao Garu, Guest of Honour for the day was Smt. A. Keerthana, Head Mistress of M.P.P.S, Reddypalem, Primary School Kodavaluru. After the prayer and Jyothi Prajwalana the gathering was addressed by our Dean S.P. Rap Garu. He spoke about gender equality, gender empowerment and how women should become empowered. Later Dr.Sharmila, Assoc. Professor of Bio-Chemistry talked on how the International Women’s Day evolved and also about the theme of the present year “Each for equals”. The next talk was on Women’s safety & security in the society, at the work place and also in their homes by Dr.Durga Madam Professor of Pathology. This was followed by Prize distribution for the teaching and Non-Teaching staff for activities like Musical Chairs, Biscuit balancing, candle race, lemon & spoon, 100 m dash and anthyakshari. After the prize distribution, the guest of Honour for the day. Smt.A.Keerthana was introduced to the audience by Ms. Haritha from the Department of Pharmacology and she was felicitated by Dr.Hema, Prof & HOD Anatomy & Dr.Durga, Prof of Pathology. Our Dean Dr. S.P.Rao Garu presented a memento on behalf of Narayana Medical College. Smt.Keerthana Garu spoke to the audience about her works and experiences and this was followed by vote of thanks by Dr.C.Jyothi, Prof. of Community Medicine.
