Department of Accident & Emergency Medicine started in the year 2005. With two beds in E.R attached with 20 bedded casualty. Now the department consists of three wards equipped with state of the art technology. One ward is dedicated for the care of Medical Emergencies of the other two wards; one is dedicated for major poly trauma patients, major fracture, surgical and neuro emergencies as well as burns. The third wards looks after the “walking wounded” people with minor injuries.
The Emergency room is manded at all 24 hrs by Emergency Medicine professionals supported by emergency medical services personal trained by ESSEX group of Ambulance services of U.K. providing care for both Trauma as well as Medical Emergencies. The department is also backed up by twenty four hours services in the specialities & Superspecialities like General Medicine, Chest Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics Medicine, Paediatric Surgery, Cardiology, Cardio thoracic Surgery, Neurology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Urology, Psychiatry, Endocrionology, Endocrine Surgery, Oncology and Surgical Oncology.
The Accident and Emergency department has one of the best equipped. The state of art equipment is of C.C.U standard. There are 5 ambulances fully equipped with Monitors, Oxygen suction and facilities for defibrillation air lifting equipment and airway management.
Critical Care Unit started in the year 2005 with 16 beds. Now the department consists of 42 bedded Critical Care Unit with international standards of pendent systems with Central nursing station and availability of professionals round the clock with staff nurses of 1:1 ratio to improve the quality of the patient care.
