Dr. V. Mahidhar Reddy, Professor & Head, Department of General Surgery, serves as the Medical Education Unit Coordinator. He has done rBCW and CISP from RCMET, KGH, Vizag and ACME from St.John’s Nodal centre, Bangalore and is currently pursuing FAIMER. He has extensive experience in faculty development, curriculum governance, CBME implementation, assessment reforms, educational research, and academic leadership.

The Medical Education Unit (MEU) serves as the academic hub of a medical college, promoting excellence in teaching, learning, assessment, and curriculum implementation. Its key roles include faculty development through training programs and workshops, supporting implementation of Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME), improving assessment practices, promoting medical education research and innovations, coordinating mentoring and student support activities, facilitating educational technology and skills-based training, ensuring academic quality assurance, and assisting the institution in meeting NMC regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
In brief, the MEU functions through four major pillars:

INFRASTRUCTURE
The department is equipped with a spacious Miller’s Learning Hall, breakout rooms, faculty room, coordinator’s office, administrative office, departmental library, and modern educational infrastructure with high-quality audio-visual facilities.
