Narayana Medical College successfully conducted the Curriculum Implementation Support Program (CISP–III) on 28–29 November 2025 under the guidance of the Madras Medical College Regional Centre and the National Medical Commission (NMC). The workshop brought together 30 faculty members from across the spectrum of medical education—from Phase 1 MBBS to Super-specialty departments—reflecting the institution’s commitment to strengthening Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME).
The Curriculum committee of Narayana Medical college along with the Medical Education Unit conducted this programme. Dean, Dr.P.Sreenivasulu Reddy, as the Chairman of CC and Dr.V.Mahidhar Reddy, MEU Coordinator, organized this event. Dr. A.V.Ramakishore from ACSR came as the NMC observer.
The two-day program featured a series of interactive, activity-based sessions delivered by experienced resource faculty.
Day 1 focused on foundational CBME components.
Dr. P. Sreenivasulu Reddy introduced the core principles of CBME and the competencies expected of the Indian Medical Graduate.
Dr. B. Sowjanya elaborated on the Graduate Medical Education Regulations (GMER 2019), highlighting integrated teaching, assessment reforms, and the importance of formative feedback.
Sessions on Alignment & Integration by Dr. V. Lavanya, Electives by Dr. Biju Ravindran, Early Clinical Exposure (ECE) by Dr. G. Ramesh Babu, and the AETCOM module by Dr. V. Mahidhar Reddy provided a comprehensive understanding of the CBME framework and its implementation across phases.
Day 2 emphasized practical teaching–learning strategies and assessment methods.
Dr. Biju Ravindran introduced the Student Doctor Method, followed by a hands-on Skills Training & Prescription Skills workshop led by Dr. V. Mahidhar Reddy.
Assessment in CBME, including OSCE/OSPE and workplace-based assessment tools, was explained in depth by Dr.V.Mahidhar Reddy.
Participants also engaged in drafting departmental teaching and assessment schedules under the guidance of Dr. V. Lavanya, followed by sessions on logbook writing and record maintenance conducted by Dr.G.Ramesh Babu.
The workshop concluded with an insightful session on Curricular Governance by Dr. P. Sreenivasulu Reddy, emphasizing institutional responsibility, monitoring mechanisms, and MEU-driven leadership.
Overall, CISP–III was highly appreciated for its clarity, relevance, and structured delivery. The program has strengthened the institution’s capacity to implement CBME effectively and enhanced faculty preparedness for outcome-based medical education.
