Family Adoption Programme - 2025 MBBS First Year Students

First Year MBBS (2025 Batch) students of Narayana Medical College visited Thotapalli Gudur on 6th March,2026 as part of the Family Adoption Program (FAP).

This field visit was an enriching and insightful experience, aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical community exposure. Students were allotted families and actively engaged in building rapport, collecting detailed socio-demographic data, environmental history, and health-related information.

The visit also focused on identifying common health problems, understanding health-seeking behavior, and creating awareness regarding personal hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, immunization, and prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Students had the opportunity to observe the living conditions, water supply, waste disposal practices, and overall environmental sanitation, which are key determinants of health. They also learned the importance of effective communication, empathy, and cultural sensitivity while interacting with the community.

The Family Adoption Program not only enhances clinical and public health knowledge but also instills a sense of social responsibility and commitment towards serving rural populations. It is a crucial step in shaping competent, compassionate, and community-oriented future doctors. 🌱

We express our sincere gratitude to our respected faculty for their constant guidance, encouragement, and support in making this visit successful.
