32nd Annual Conference of Indian Academy of Neurology – IANCON 2025
Dr. N. S. Sampath Kumar, Professor & Head, Department of Neurology, Narayana Medical College, Nellore, participated as a faculty member at IANCON 2025, the 32nd Annual Conference of the Indian Academy of Neurology, held in Kashi, India.
During the scientific programme, he delivered a presentation on “Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) – A Reversible Cause of Dementia and Gait Disorder: Latest Updates in Diagnosis & Management.” The presentation focused on the clinical recognition of NPH, its diagnostic approach, differentiation from mimicking conditions, and assessment of patients for appropriate treatment, including shunt candidacy.
The presentation highlighted the importance of clinical suspicion based on the characteristic triad, neuroimaging with CT/MRI, CSF tap/drainage testing, CSF pressure assessment, exclusion of mimics, and appropriate patient selection for shunt therapy.
The conference provided an opportunity for academic exchange, interaction with leading neurologists, discussion of recent advances in neurology, and dissemination of clinical knowledge among neurologists, trainees, and other healthcare professionals.
