Dr. P. Sreenivasulu Reddy

Dr. Dr. P. Sreenivasulu Reddy, MD is an eminent clinical microbiologist from South India with a distinguished record as an educator, examiner, and PhD mentor in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral medical education. He completed his MBBS from Kurnool Medical College, Andhra Pradesh in 1993 and was subsequently awarded the MD degree in Microbiology by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada in 1998.
Beginning his academic career in 1999 as Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Dr. Reddy has since risen to serve as Dean and Head of Institute, demonstrating exceptional leadership in both academic governance and institutional advancement. His contributions have included membership on the Boards of Studies for Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada and as an external Board member for SDUHER, Kolar, Karnataka.
Dr. Reddy is widely recognised as an outstanding teacher and curriculum developer, particularly noted for designing academically robust and practically effective programs tailored to support students with diverse learning needs. He has undergone formal training in medical education, including the NTTC Training in Medical Education at JIPMER (2007), followed by advanced training in Medical Education at St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore. He is NABH assessor since six years
An active scholar, Dr. Reddy has made notable contributions to research, particularly in emerging antimicrobial resistance and hospital infection control, with over 32 publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals. His practical expertise in infection control led to the development of a comprehensive manual for institutional infection prevention practices, and he has completed specialised training in Hospital Infection Control (HIC) from JIPMER, Puducherry. He also served as Chairperson for his institution’s NAAC accreditation process.
Dr. Reddy is a respected figure in medical education and scientific communities, having served as a judge for scientific sessions at various conferences and as a guest speaker at CMEs and academic events statewide. He is author of two medical texts: Hospital Practice and Patient Care and Quick Review of Medical Microbiology & Book on MCQs in clinical microbiology based on CBME curriculum
In recognition of his exceptional achievements and contributions to medical education, Dr. Reddy was honoured with the Asia Pacific Education Excellence Award for his leadership in 2022 and impact in the educational sphere.
