Cme On Epilepsy Conducted By Department Of Neurology
On the occasion of International Epilepsy Day 2019, CME programme titled “Epilepsy Management Meet-2019”; was conducted by Neurology Department, Narayana Medical College on 12th February 2019; under the able leadership of Dr.N.S.Sampath Kumar, Prof and HOD Depart of Neurology, and organising secretary of this CME. On this occasion chief guest Mr.Parmeswar Reddy additional superintendent of police (ASP, Nellore) inaugurated the CME and addressed the gathering regarding the social and legal issues borne by people with epilepsy. Dr.Satish Kumar, CEO and Medical Superintendant, Narayana Medical College and Dr.Prabhakar, COO; participated in the lightening of the lamp and addressed the gathering regarding dealing with patients suffering from epilepsy. Dr.V.Surya Prakash Rao, Dean of Narayana Medical College and organising Chairman of this CME; emphasized the importance of empathy while handling patients with epilepsy. The gathering was attended by faculty members and post-graduate students of various departments in large numbers. Dr.G.Sangamithra, Asst. Professor of Neurology spoke on the topic Overview of Epilepsy. This was followed by a talk on Medical management of Epilepsy by Dr.N.S.Sampath Kumar and finally a talk on Refractory Epilepsy beyond drug therapy by Dr.Ravish Keni, AsstProf. of Neurology. This was followed by panel discussion and a vote of thanks. The session enlightened all regarding the approach to patients with epilepsy, medical management of epilepsy and surgical approaches to drug resistant epilepsy.
