About the Department

Department Overview

The Department of Endocrinology at Narayana Medical College, Nellore, was established on 17 April 2010 with the objective of providing comprehensive clinical care and structured academic training in the field of endocrinology and metabolic disorders.

20-Bed Endocrinology Unit
The department functions as one clinical unit with a bed strength of 20 beds and has an annual PG intake of 2 students.

It provides dedicated inpatient and outpatient services with an emphasis on systematic evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and long-term follow-up of patients with endocrine disorders.

Patient Care & Academic Facilities

The department has three OPD rooms and two wards, facilitating organized outpatient consultations and inpatient care.

A dedicated seminar room supports academic activities such as case discussions, seminars, journal clubs, clinical presentations and postgraduate teaching.

Academic Overview

At the Undergraduate (UG) level, endocrinology is integrated into the MBBS curriculum primarily through General Medicine and allied disciplines. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of endocrine physiology and the clinical evaluation of common endocrine disorders.

Academic Overview

Super-Speciality Education
