Narayana Medical College successfully conducted the Ethics Awareness Programme for all postgraduate students on 6 August 2025, in accordance with the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences regulations and the NMC PGMER-2023 guidelines, which mandate completion of an Ethics Awareness Course as a prerequisite for appearing in the final university examinations.
The session was held at the Grey’s Lecture Gallery, on 6th August, 2025 2.30 PM to 4 PM and was delivered by Dr. V. Mahidhar Reddy, MEU Coordinator. Postgraduates of all the departments participated in the programme enthusiastically.
The programme focused on enhancing ethical practice and professionalism among postgraduate trainees. Key components included:
- 1. Code of Medical Ethics
A detailed presentation covering principles of ethical medical practice, professional conduct, confidentiality, accountability, and responsibilities towards patients and society.
- Legal Obligations and Doctor–Patient Duties
An overview of essential medico-legal responsibilities, patient rights, informed consent, documentation standards, and the legal implications of clinical decision-making.
Attendance was recorded as mandatory for all PG trainees, as the certification from this session forms a required component under Clause 17.14 of PGMER-2023.
The session was well received by the participants, who expressed appreciation for the clarity and practical relevance of the content. The programme reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to fostering professionalism, ethical conduct, and high-quality medical training.
