As per the orders of the Principal, Narayana Medical College, Nellore, Intensified Pulse Polio Programme was implemented in the campus of Narayana Medical Institutions. A preliminary house-to-house survey was done with the help of six post-B.Sc (N) students on 01 April, 2017. About fifty children were enumerated from the staff quarters of the campus. The Polio Booth was inaugurated by Dr. G. V. Nagi Reddy, Principal, NMC at 8 AM on 01 April, 2017. The booth was located conveniently at the entrance of the Medical College Hospital. Children accompanying adult visitors were the first ones to receive the vaccine. The children admitted in wards of hospital were given the vaccine by going to the bed side of the mothers. Some of the children of the staff quarters were also immunized. About 300 children were immunized between 01 and 04 2017. The programme of IPPI was a grand success.
