Pioneering Insights into Regenerative Medicine

Narayana Medical College, Nellore, was honored to host an insightful talk by Dr. Samuel J.K. Abraham from the University of Yamanashi, Japan. Dr. Abraham, the Founder and Director of GN Corporation, Japan, and the Nichi-In Centre for Regenerative Medicine, shared groundbreaking advancements in cell therapy for ophthalmological and urological diseases on 14/11/2024

Dr. Abraham presented to the college’s medical students, highlighting the innovative BEES-HAUS (Buccal Epithelium Expanded and Encapsulated in Scaffold-Hybrid Approach to Urethral Stricture) technique—a novel solution for treating male urethral strictures. This pioneering method, developed through an Indo-Japanese collaboration at Narayana Medical College, combines Japan’s expertise in cell culture and nano-polymer scaffold technology with local urological applications, demonstrating the potential of cross-border research partnerships.

Dr. Jagannatha Rao, Pro-Chancellor of KL University and former Director of INDICASAT, Panama, moderated this session, emphasizing the importance of engaging medical students in research during their graduate studies to help position India as a leader in science and technology.
