On the occasion of the celebration of world breast-feeding week, the department of community medicine organized a health education session for ante-natal, post-natal mothers, women in the community, ASHA workers, ANMs along with Interns and students posted in the department at the Health & Wellness UHC, NTR nagar, Nellore. Dr. Sk. Sakeena, final year post-graduate spoke about the importance of breastfeeding. Dr. C. Jyothi, Professor and HOD Community Medicine also briefed the audience about the advantages of breast feeding, what is exclusive breast feeding, when to start complimentary feeding, what are the precautions to to be taken during bottle feeding etc., Clarifications were also given to the queries the recently delivered mothers’ had. At the end nutritious snack was distributed to all those who attended the program. Dr. C. Kumar, Professor of Community Medicine, Dr. R. Sai Sravan Kumar, Associate Professor & Dr. Balakrishna, NSS Co-ordinator of Narayan Medical College also took part in the program.
