As per the guidelines of Dr. S.P. Rao, Dean, Narayana Medical College, Nellore, department of Community Medicine organized the following academic activities were organized on 04 Feb, 2020 on the occasion of the World Cancer Day.   The objective is to spread awareness about the Cancers so that the community will come forward and cooperates with the prevention and control programmes, all over the world.  

1. Health Education campaign at the Govt Dodla Kousalyamma Women’s College, Nellore.
2. About 15 Posters were prepared by the Interns posted to the department, were displayed at the women’s college.
3. A competition for the medical students in making short films was organized on the theme of the Cancer Day.

 Dr. (Mrs). C. Jyothi, Professor organized these activities with the cooperation of Dr. C. Kumar, Professor, Dr. S. Bhaskar, Assocaite Professor & NSS Coordinator, Dr. Vyshnavi, Assistant Professor, postgradautes and Interns of the department. 
HEALTH EDUCATION CAMPAIGN was conducted on 04 Feb, 2020 at the women’s college with the cooperation of Dr. Masthanaiah, Principal, Mrs. Divija, NSS Coordinator.   About 150 girls attended the programme.  After welcome address by Mrs. Divija, Dr. Masthanaiah gave a brief speech.  This was followed by Dr. Jyothi, who discussed the problem of Breast Cancer more specifically.  Dr. Vyshnavi focused her discussion on Cervial cancers.   The discussion was done from 3 pm to 4.30 pm.  A study to assess the awareness of the girl students was also done by the postgraduates, by a self-administered proforma.  All posters prepared by the Interns were displayed at the venue, the main meeting hall.
